Vivo Launches Y600i in China With 8,000mAh Battery

Vivo has added the Y600i to its mid-range Y series. The company unveiled the phone in China on Friday. Online sales will start next week through Vivo’s China store.

The phone goes on sale on September 30. Vivo is offering one memory option only. That variant pairs 6GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. The launch price is CNY 1,999, or about Rs. 29,000.

Buyers can choose from three colours. Those finishes are Baby’s Breath, Clear Blue, and Polar Night Black.

A 6.87-inch HD+ LCD sits on the front. The panel runs at up to 120Hz. It uses a 720 x 1,592 resolution, a 19.9:9 aspect ratio, and a claimed 90.91 percent screen-to-body ratio. Vivo also says the phone carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance.

A 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset powers the handset. The octa-core setup uses two performance cores at up to 2.2GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.95GHz. An Adreno 613 GPU handles graphics. Storage uses UFS 2.2. OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, ships on the phone. Dual SIM support is included.

Security covers two methods. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner sits on the frame. Face unlock is also available.

The rear camera is a single 50-megapixel unit. It uses an f/1.8 aperture, a CMOS sensor, autofocus, and up to 10x digital zoom. Up front, an 8-megapixel selfie camera works at f/2.05 with up to 2x digital zoom. Video recording tops out at 1080p.

Battery capacity is 8,000mAh. Wired charging is rated at 44W. Connectivity includes 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, and several satellite systems. An IR blaster is on board as well.

The phone measures 169.55 x 79.2 x 8.69mm. It weighs about 229g. Vivo has not announced an India launch yet.
