Oura Ring 5 Launches in India with Smaller Design and New Health Features

Oura launched the Oura Ring 5 in India on Thursday. The new model succeeds the Oura Ring 4 and arrives with a noticeably smaller design. It also brings upgraded sensors, fresh health-tracking tools, and AI-powered wellness features.

The company says the ring includes two new activity features. These help users understand how exercise affects long-term cardiovascular health.

Price and Availability

The Oura Ring 5 starts at Rs. 39,900 for the Silver and Black colour variants. The Gold, Deep Rose, Stealth, and Brushed Silver options cost Rs. 50,900. The ring is available in sizes 6 through 13. Each unit ships with a size-specific charger.

Buyers can currently pre-order the device through Amazon and Croma stores across the country. Users can also subscribe to the Oura membership for Rs. 599 per month. The membership unlocks an additional set of features.

Design and Build

The Oura Ring 5 is claimed to be 40 per cent smaller than the Oura Ring 4. This reduction comes from its lightweight titanium construction. The company has also applied a stronger physical vapour deposition coating. As a result, the ring offers better scratch resistance. It carries an IP68 rating and remains water-resistant up to 100 metres.

Sensors and Health Features

The smart ring uses a new signal architecture. This includes low-profile sensor domes, upgraded LEDs, and 12 enhanced signal pathways. Oura says the setup improves accuracy across different finger shapes and skin tones.

A key addition is Health Radar. It is a proactive health-monitoring platform built on the existing Symptom Radar feature. The system continuously analyses biometric trends. It currently includes Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing monitoring. Blood Pressure Signals tracks trends linked to cardiovascular strain. Nighttime Breathing provides a 30-day view of breathing disturbances during sleep.

The ring also supports Live Activity Tracking. Users can monitor workouts in real time through the Oura app. The company has expanded its metabolic health tools as well. The new GLP-1 Insights feature is designed for people taking GLP-1 medications.

Additional Tools and Battery Life

Other new capabilities include Oura Health Records. This integrates clinical health data with information from the ring’s sensors. The device also offers AI-enabled healthcare support through a partnership with Counsel Health. An enhanced Advisor AI system provides personalised health recommendations.

A Locate feature helps users find misplaced rings and charging cases. A new Data Deletion tool lets users selectively remove specific periods of health data. Oura claims the Ring 5 can deliver up to nine days of battery life on a single charge. Actual performance depends on ring size and usage.
