Poco M8x 5G to Launch in India on August 21

Poco has confirmed that the M8x 5G will debut in India on August 21 at 12 pm IST. The smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart.

The company revealed that the handset will arrive in three colour options — Black, Blue, and Leather Green. The green variant will feature a vegan leather finish with a quad‑curved rear panel. A flat middle frame with metallic finish adds to the design.

Specifications Teased

The Poco M8x 5G will run on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. The brand promises four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The display will include Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and Wet Touch 2.0 for better response with damp fingers. The phone also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. Poco claims the processor launches apps 43 percent faster and has scored over 6,30,000 points on AnTuTu. The phone will feature 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Thermal management will be handled by a vapour chamber cooling system with graphite and copper layers.

Battery and Charging

The handset packs a 7,900mAh battery. Poco says it can deliver up to three days of use, including 35 hours of social media, 27 days of messaging, 13 hours of GPS navigation, or 64 hours of music playback. Charging options include 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
