Grok, xAI’s AI Chatbot, Now Available as an iOS App

xAI is the artificial intelligence (AI) company founded by Elon Musk. It has officially launched its native chatbot, Grok, as a standalone iOS app. The company has been testing the app in beta for nearly a month. It is now available for download in the US. However, Gadgets 360 has confirmed that the app is also functional in India.

The standalone Grok app offers all the features available on the web version of the chatbot. Users can generate images. They can ask web search-based queries. They can also engage in conversational AI interactions. This is possible even when not logged in to their X (formerly Twitter) account.

Signing in to an X account provides a more personalized experience. It tailors the AI chatbot’s responses to individual user preferences.

The official xAI handle announced the app’s launch on the X platform. It highlighted the convenience of accessing Grok’s capabilities without the need for a web browser.

The initial launch appears to be focused on the US market. However, the app’s availability in India demonstrates the company’s potential plans for global expansion.

Sony Unveils New Game Adaptations at CES 2025, Including God of War Series and Horizon Zero Dawn Movie

The announcements confirmed its continued push into film and television adaptations of its popular game franchises. “The Last of Us,” “Gran Turismo,” “Twisted Metal,” and “Uncharted” were successful. Following these successes, Sony revealed plans for adaptations of “Horizon Zero Dawn,” “Helldivers 2,” and “Ghost of Tsushima.”  

A major highlight of the event was the official announcement of a live-action “God of War” series. Amazon Prime Video will produce the series.

“Helldivers 2” and “Horizon Zero Dawn” Head to the Big Screen

Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions, and Ashley Brucks, President of Screen Gems, announced a film adaptation of “Helldivers 2.” Sony Pictures will develop this adaptation. The game was recently released and achieved record-breaking sales. It reached 12 million units sold within the first 12 weeks.  

Sony confirmed that Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are developing a “Horizon Zero Dawn” movie. They are currently in the early stages. This film is expected to delve into the origins of Aloy, the protagonist, in the game’s post-apocalyptic world.  

“Ghost of Tsushima” to Become an Anime Series

Aniplex President Atsuhiro Iwakami and Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini revealed a partnership. They aim to develop an anime series based on the critically acclaimed “Ghost of Tsushima.” The game is set in 13th-century Japan. It follows Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior. He must embrace unconventional tactics to defend his homeland from the Mongol invasion. The anime series is slated for release in 2027.  

Previous “Horizon Zero Dawn” Adaptation Shelved

A Netflix series based on “Horizon Zero Dawn” was previously in development. “The Umbrella Academy” showrunner Steve Blackman was attached as the writer. However, the project was shelved in July 2024 following misconduct allegations against Blackman.

Crypto Market Surges on Monday, Bitcoin Nears $100,000 Mark

The cryptocurrency market witnessed a significant surge in value on Monday, with most major cryptocurrencies trading in the green. Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, experienced a 1.23 percent increase over the past 24 hours on global exchanges, pushing its price to $99,537 (approximately Rs. 85.4 lakh). On Indian exchanges like CoinDCX and Giottus, Bitcoin saw a similar rise, reaching $103,114 (approximately Rs. 88.5 lakh).

“After a period of consolidation, Bitcoin is once again approaching the crucial $99,500 mark. This marks six consecutive days of gains,” stated the CoinSwitch Markets Desk to Gadgets 360. They were commenting on the market trend. “If this resistance level is breached successfully and trading volume is significant, a major rally could ensue. This rally could be similar to the one witnessed in January 2024.”

Ether, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, also joined Bitcoin in the profit zone. On global exchanges, Ether recorded a 1.08 percent increase in value, bringing its price to $3,683 (approximately Rs. 3.16 lakh). Indian exchanges reflected a similar trend, with ETH trading at $3,785 (approximately Rs. 3.24 lakh) after a 0.65 percent gain.
