Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max May Feature Thicker Design for Bigger Battery
Apple appears ready to make a notable design change with its next flagship phone. Recent leaks suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max will arrive slightly thicker and heavier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This shift points to Apple’s focus on improved battery life rather than a thinner profile.
According to tipster Ice Universe, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could weigh around 240 grams and measure about 9 mm thick. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max weighs 233 grams and is 8.8 mm thick. Although the difference is small, it would make the new model one of Apple’s heaviest premium iPhones. Most users, however, may not notice a big change in daily handling.
Experts link these adjustments to a larger battery. Certification listings indicate the iPhone 18 Pro Max may come with a 5,567 mAh battery in eSIM-only versions. Markets with physical SIM support could receive a 5,391 mAh version. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro Max uses smaller batteries of 5,088 mAh and 4,823 mAh respectively.
A bigger battery promises clear benefits. Users can expect longer battery life, better performance during gaming, stronger support for Apple Intelligence features, and improved thermal management.
Beyond the battery, leaks point to several other upgrades. The iPhone 18 Pro Max may include enhanced cameras, a next-generation chipset, an advanced cooling system, and further improvements to Apple Intelligence.
Apple typically unveils its new iPhone lineup in September. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to launch around that time. Pricing remains unofficial, but analysts predict it will start at approximately $1,199 in the United States. In India, the starting price could be around Rs 169,900, depending on storage options, taxes, and duties.
Keep in mind that all these details come from leaks and rumors. They should be treated as speculation until Apple makes an official announcement.
