Sony Launches IER-M500 Wired In-Ear Monitors in India
Sony has launched the IER-M500 in India. These are wired in-ear monitors. The company designed them for professional audio monitoring and live performance use. The earphones feature a 5mm dynamic driver. They also use a sealed acoustic design. This setup provides passive noise isolation. A special fitting system keeps them secure during movement.
Sony includes multiple ear tips with the product. Fitting supporters, a cable clip, and a carrying case come in the box as well. The company first launched the IER-M500 in the US in July. It is now available in India in three colour options.
The Sony IER-M500 is priced at Rs. 10,990 in India. Buyers can choose from Black, Clear, or Red and Blue finishes. The earphones are available on Amazon, Flipkart, Real Image, Sound Glitz, Headphone Zone, and other offline retailers.
The 5mm dynamic driver delivers a frequency response from 10Hz to 40,000Hz. Impedance stands at 16 ohms at 1kHz. Sensitivity reaches 103dB/mW. The sealed housing and internal acoustic structure help reduce external noise. Noise-isolating ear tips further improve isolation. Sony states that the design reproduces both low and high frequencies clearly.
A 1.6-metre wired Y-type cable connects the earphones. It ends with an L-shaped stereo mini plug. Fitting supporters and multiple ear tip sizes help users achieve a secure fit. An adjustable cable clip keeps the cable in place. It also reduces contact noise during use. The cable can handle repeated bending. Sony has tested the earphones for water resistance suited to stage conditions.
The package includes a carrying pouch for the earphones and accessories. Operating instructions are also provided. Without the cable, the IER-M500 weighs approximately 6.9 grams.
