Huawei has launched the MateBook Pro S in China. The laptop runs on the Kirin XE90 processor and HarmonyOS 6.1.
It arrives in several variants. These include the standard model, Soft Light Screen Edition, Privacy Screen Edition, and Collector’s Edition. The notebook features a 14.2-inch Flexible OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Moreover, Huawei equips it with AI features, dual 1080p cameras, Bluetooth 6.0, and a claimed battery life of up to 18 hours.
Pricing in China starts at CNY 7,999 for the 16GB + 512GB configuration. The 24GB + 512GB version costs CNY 8,999. Meanwhile, the 24GB + 1TB model is priced at CNY 10,499.
The Soft Light Screen Edition in 24GB + 512GB form retails for CNY 9,999. The Privacy Screen Edition is available in 24GB + 512GB and 24GB + 1TB options at CNY 10,299 and CNY 11,799 respectively. In addition, the Collector’s Edition with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage carries a price of CNY 14,999.
Colour choices vary by model. The standard version comes in Midsummer Purple, Dawn Yellow, Smoky Grey, and Velvet White. Soft Light Screen units appear in Midsummer Purple and Feather Black. Privacy Screen models offer Dawn Yellow and Velvet White. The Collector’s Edition is finished in Smoky Grey and Feather Black.
Sales begin on different dates. The standard and Soft Light Screen variants go on sale in China on 14 August. The Privacy Screen Edition and Collector’s Edition follow on 28 August.
The 14.2-inch Flexible OLED touchscreen delivers a 3,120 x 2,080-pixel resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Peak brightness reaches 1,600 nits. The panel supports both P3 and sRGB colour spaces along with 10-point touch input.
Huawei powers the laptop with the Kirin XE90 chipset. Memory and storage options reach 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device ships with HarmonyOS 6.1.
Several AI tools come pre-installed. These include Xiaoyi Smart Notes, Xiaoyi In-Depth Research, Xiaoyi Smart Search, and AI Noise Reduction Calls. Additional software features cover Huawei Notes, Huawei Share, SuperTerminal, Cross-Device Clipboard, and wireless screen casting.
For video calls, the notebook includes both a 1080p front camera and a 1080p rear camera. Ambient light sensors sit on the front and rear sides. Four speakers and six microphones support audio performance.
The full-size backlit keyboard offers 1.5mm key travel. A pressure-sensitive multi-touch touchpad works with the Huawei M-Pen 3. A fingerprint scanner is built into the power button.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, and two USB Type-C ports supporting USB 3.2 Gen 1. One port also handles DisplayPort 1.2 output up to 4K at 60Hz. A side switch controls camera, microphone, and location permissions or activates privacy display mode depending on the model.
A 54Wh battery supports 66W charging through the USB Type-C port. Huawei claims up to 18 hours of video playback. The laptop measures 310.8 x 220.8mm. Most variants are 11.9mm thick, while the Collector’s Edition reaches 12.2mm. Weights range from 798g to 825g across the lineup.
