Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: Launch Date and Specs Revealed

Samsung is set to unveil its next clamshell foldable smartphone soon. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 promises meaningful upgrades over last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7. Although the company has not shared full details yet, leaks have revealed plenty of exciting hints.

The new model keeps a similar look and feel to its predecessor. It will likely retain the same form factor, displays, and rear camera setup that fans loved in previous Flip phones.

Launch Date Confirmed

Samsung has officially scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked event for July 22 in London. The presentation will begin at 2:00 PM BST, which is 6:30 PM IST. During this event, the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 9, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Expected Pricing

Leaks point to a premium price tag for the Galaxy Z Flip 8. In Europe, the 256GB version may cost around EUR 1,299, roughly Rs. 1,41,000. The 512GB model could reach EUR 1,499, or about Rs. 1,60,000.

For comparison, last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 launched at EUR 1,199 for the 256GB model in Europe and Rs. 1,09,999 in India.

Key Specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will feature a large 6.9-inch foldable main display. It will support a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and reach up to 2,600 nits peak brightness. In addition, the 4.1-inch cover screen will receive an upgrade to 120Hz refresh rate for better performance.

Samsung plans a dual-chip strategy for this model. Markets like the US and China will likely get the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Meanwhile, Europe and India may receive a variant powered by the new 2nm Exynos 2600 processor. The phone is expected to come with 12GB of RAM as standard and storage options of 256GB or 512GB.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will ship with Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI 9 right out of the box. The company is expected to offer seven years of OS updates for long-term support.

On the camera front, the device will probably keep the same setup as its predecessor. This includes a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel selfie camera. The battery capacity is likely to remain at 4,300mAh with 25W charging support.

Design-wise, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 aims to feel even more premium. It could measure just 6.1mm when unfolded and 13.2mm when folded. At around 180 grams, it will also be slightly lighter than the previous model.

Overall, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks ready to deliver a refined foldable experience. Tech enthusiasts eagerly await the official reveal on July 22.
