Oppo Launches Reno 16t in China With 200MP Camera and 6,700mAh Battery

Oppo has launched the Reno 16t in China. It is the third phone in the mid-range Reno 16 lineup, after the standard and Pro models. The handset is on sale through Oppo’s China website. Three colours and two memory options are offered. An octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8000-series chipset powers the phone. A triple rear camera is led by a 200-megapixel main sensor. The battery is 6,700mAh. RAM reaches 16GB. Storage reaches 512GB.

The 12GB + 256GB model starts at CNY 3,699, or about Rs 53,000. The 16GB + 512GB model costs CNY 4,499, or about Rs 64,000. Colours are Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat, and a dark finish translated as The Moonlit Night is Dark.

The Reno 16t is a dual-SIM phone. It ships with ColorOS 16 on Android 16. The screen is a 6.32-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel at 1,216 x 2,640 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 460 ppi, full DCI-P3 coverage, 1.07 billion colours, 240Hz touch sampling and peak brightness up to 1,800 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is listed at 93.4 percent. Oppo claims IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection.

The processor is a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chip. Peak clock speed is 3.4GHz. Graphics come from an ARM G720 MC8 GPU. Top models use up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The lower model uses 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Unlock options include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

The rear cameras include a 200-megapixel f/1.8 main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel f/2.0 ultrawide with a 116-degree field of view, and a 50-megapixel f/2.8 telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The front camera is 50 megapixels with autofocus. Video recording reaches 4K at 60fps.

The 6,700mAh battery supports 80W wired charging. Connectivity includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth and USB-C. Satellite systems listed are BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC. Sensors include proximity, ambient light, colour temperature, e-compass, accelerometer, gyroscope and an IR blaster. The phone measures 151.21 x 72.42 x 8.36 mm and weighs about 191 g.
