Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Expected to Bring Bigger Battery and Faster Charging
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the second half of this year. The new book-style foldable will arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
A fresh leak has revealed several key details about the upcoming device. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will bring clear improvements in battery and charging compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
According to tipster Anthony (@TheGalox_), the phone will keep the same screen sizes. It will feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch main inner display. Both panels will use 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED technology. In addition, the inner screen will come with dual-layer ultra-thin glass for better durability.
Samsung will also use a laser-drilled metal support plate under the display. For cameras, the device is expected to carry a 200-megapixel primary sensor. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This overclocked chip already powers the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Moreover, Samsung will add vapour chamber cooling to manage heat effectively.
Buyers can choose between 12GB and 16GB of RAM. Storage options will include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants.
The biggest upgrade appears in the battery department. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. This marks a solid step up from the 4,400mAh battery and 25W charging found on the current model.
However, the leak also points out one limitation. Samsung will not cross the 5,000mAh mark this time. Meanwhile, rival foldables such as the Oppo Find N6 offer a larger 6,000mAh battery. The Honor Magic V6 comes with an even larger 6,600mAh battery.
Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 looks set to deliver better performance and longer battery life. It maintains the familiar design and display sizes.
