Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launch: Premium Features Unveiled

Xiaomi unveils the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in India, featuring advanced camera technology and performance.

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in India on Wednesday. The company introduced this premium flagship alongside the standard Xiaomi 17. The global debut happened on February 28 in Barcelona, Spain. Now, Indian buyers can access this advanced device.

Xiaomi claims the phone features the world’s first Leica 1-inch LOFIC sensor. It also includes a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset powers the handset. This octa-core processor delivers top performance.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra costs Rs. 1,39,999 in India. It comes in one configuration: 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Customers with SBI credit cards enjoy a Rs. 10,000 bank discount. Buyers receive a free Xiaomi Professional Photography Kit Pro during the early bird period. This period runs from March 13 to March 17. The kit is worth Rs. 19,999.

Sales start on March 18. Shoppers can purchase it through Amazon and the Xiaomi India website. The phone arrives in Black and White color options.

The display measures 6.9 inches. It uses Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED technology with 1,200×2,608 resolution. The screen supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling. It reaches 3,500 nits peak brightness. DCI-P3 color coverage, HDR+ support, and Dolby Vision enhance visuals. Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 protects the panel. Wet Touch technology allows use with damp fingers. TÜV Rheinland certifications cover low blue light, flicker-free operation, and circadian-friendly viewing.

The device runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3. It supports dual SIM. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 includes two high-performance cores at 4.6GHz and six efficiency cores at 3.62GHz. It pairs with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. An Adreno GPU and Qualcomm AI engine handle demanding tasks. The phone earns IP68 dust and water resistance.

Photography stands out strongly. The Leica-tuned triple rear setup features a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.67 aperture, 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor, OIS, and 23mm focal length. A 200-megapixel telephoto lens uses a 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPE sensor, OIS, variable f/2.39 to f/2.96 aperture, and up to 120x digital zoom. The 50-megapixel ultrawide offers f/2.2 aperture, 1/2.75-inch Samsung JN5 sensor, and 115-degree field of view.

The front camera is 50-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture, 1/2.87-inch OV50M sensor, and 90-degree field of view. Rear cameras record 8K video at 30fps. Security includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.

The 6,000mAh battery supports 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Connectivity includes 5G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi 7. It also supports Bluetooth 6, NFC, and multiple satellite systems such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC. Sensors include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, and IR blaster.

The phone measures 162.9 x 77.6 x 8.29mm and weighs about 219g.

Xiaomi targets premium users with this model. It combines powerful hardware, advanced imaging, and long battery life. Enthusiasts can now explore and buy it soon.
