Nothing Rolls Out Beta of Essential Apps Builder to Phone 3 Users
Nothing expands its AI ambitions significantly. The UK-based smartphone maker launched the Essential Suite of AI tools in September 2025. Moreover, the company positions this suite as a foundation for an AI-native operating system.
The Essential Apps Builder stands out as the flagship feature. Earlier, it existed only in early Alpha form. It remained limited to internal teams and a small community. Now, Nothing announces the beta rollout.
The company shared the update in a community post on Tuesday. The Essential Apps Builder enters beta exclusively on the Nothing Phone 3 first. Users join a waitlist to access it in batches. Furthermore, the Playground hub hosts this powerful tool.
Nothing simplifies app publishing and updates. The interface clearly labels live apps, drafts, and changes. Additionally, the builder now fully supports dark mode.
The beta version unlocks basic creation capabilities. Users describe ideas in natural language. The system generates personalised apps and widgets instantly. Currently, it accesses location, calendar (read-only), and contacts. Thus, it builds location-based reminders, agenda views, meeting countdowns, and one-tap contact widgets.
Nothing promises rapid expansion. Future updates will add camera, microphone, network fetching, notifications, vibration, calling, and Bluetooth support. A late February OS update introduces activity recognition, usage statistics, sensor data, and system Weather API.
The stable release arrives later this year. It brings the Remixing Apps feature alongside. Both enhancements live in the Playground hub.
Nothing plans broader availability soon. After the beta stabilises, the Essential Apps Builder reaches other Nothing and CMF devices. These devices run Nothing OS 4.0 or later versions.
Users create apps through “vibe coding.” They simply describe what they want in everyday language. The AI handles the rest effortlessly. This approach democratises app development dramatically.
Nothing continues to innovate boldly. The Essential Suite evolves from concept to reality. Beta testers now shape the future of personalised mobile experiences. Stay tuned for wider access and exciting new capabilities.
