Google NotebookLM Gets Mind Maps, Output Language Selector
Google NotebookLM has introduced two new features: Mind Maps and an output language selector. These updates aim to enhance user interaction with the artificial intelligence (AI) platform.
Mind Maps Feature
The Mind Maps feature creates a flow chart of concepts discussed in content sources. This allows users to visualize connections between different concepts. Generating a Mind Map takes around 20 seconds.
How to Access Mind Maps
To access Mind Maps, users can add one or more sources to a sheet in NotebookLM. The feature is available under the Studio section of the page. A purple-colored map icon at the bottom creates Mind Maps of selected sources.
Output Language Selector
NotebookLM has also introduced an output language selector. This feature allows users to choose the output language for generated text within the platform. The selector is accessible from the settings menu.
Availability of Features
The Mind Maps feature is widely available. However, the output language selector is currently only available to Google Workspace users with a Google One AI Premium subscription. It is also available to paid enterprise users.
