Vega-C Rocket Triumphantly Returns to Space, Launching Sentinel-1C Satellite
The European Space Agency’s (ESA) Vega-C rocket has successfully returned to space. It launched the Copernicus Sentinel-1C satellite into orbit. This launch marks a significant milestone for the European space program. The program had faced a setback from a previous mission failure in July 2022.
The Vega-C rocket is operated by Arianespace. It lifted off from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on December 5, 2024. The mission was initially scheduled for December 4 but was delayed due to a technical issue.

The Sentinel-1C satellite is a vital component of the European Union’s Copernicus Earth observation program. It will join its twin satellite, Sentinel-1A, to provide continuous radar imagery of Earth’s surface.
