Google aims to enhance the user experience of its Google TV Streamer (4K). The company is reportedly developing a new remote control with backlit controls. A recent report by AFTVNews reveals code references in the latest update for the TV Streamer (4K). These references hint at the introduction of backlit remote controls.
Improved Navigation in Low-Light Scenarios
The new remote control is expected to improve the operation of the Google TV Streamer (4K) in low-light scenarios. The backlit controls will illuminate each time they are pressed. They will last for 5 seconds after activation. This feature will enable users to navigate through the menu and controls with ease, even in dark environments.
Customizable Backlit Control Modes
The report suggests that Google may offer three control modes for the backlit remote controls: Never, Standard, and Scheduled. The Never mode will disable the backlit controls, while the Standard mode will enable illumination upon each press. The Scheduled mode will allow users to schedule the illumination for a specific time period. For example, users can set it during night time from 6 pm to 6 am.
Dedicated Button for Toggling Backlit Controls
According to the report, supported Google TV remotes may also have a dedicated button for toggling the backlit controls. This feature will enable users to easily switch on or off the backlit controls as needed.
