OnePlus Watch 3 Rumored to Get Major Health Upgrades, Including ECG and Wrist Temperature Monitoring

The OnePlus Watch 2 launched earlier this year. Rumors are starting to circulate about its successor, the OnePlus Watch 3. The latest reports suggest significant health upgrades are in the pipeline, including ECG monitoring and wrist temperature tracking.

Android Authority discovered evidence of these new features. They performed an APK teardown of the latest version of the OHealth app. Screenshots show that the ECG feature can detect conditions such as atrial fibrillation (AFib). It can also detect frequent PVCs and both high or low heart rates, among other conditions. While phone compatibility may be required for some functionalities, ECG readings may also be accessible directly on the watch.

The teardown also indicates the inclusion of Wrist Temperature monitoring. Users may need to establish a baseline temperature. They should wear the watch during sleep for at least five days. At least one sleep session should last four hours or more.

Furthermore, the OnePlus Watch 3 series is rumored to introduce a 60-second Checkup feature. This comprehensive assessment will track various health indicators. It includes heart health, blood vessel elasticity, and sleep snoring. The assessment uses seven key metrics, such as blood oxygen levels, ECG measurements, sleep quality, vascular age, and more.

The OHealth app is also expected to receive a dedicated Health tab. This tab will feature Health Insights and Health Journey features. These provide users with a more in-depth understanding of their overall health.

The OnePlus Watch 3 is anticipated to be unveiled during a global launch event. It will debut alongside the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13R will also be introduced during this event.
