Mahindra Partners with Dolby for Immersive Audio in New Electric SUVs
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Dolby Laboratories. This partnership aims to bring Dolby Atmos immersive audio experiences to its upcoming range of born-electric SUVs. These include the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. This collaboration is the first time Dolby has partnered with an Indian automaker. It sets a new standard for in-car entertainment.
The enhanced audio experience will be seamlessly integrated with the EVs’ infotainment systems. This is possible through a partnership with Gaana, the popular Indian music streaming service. The Dolby Atmos system will work with the 16 Harman Kardon speakers. These speakers come standard in the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. This premium sound system is meticulously designed to deliver high-fidelity audio throughout the cabin.
The in-car audio setup includes a sophisticated three-way speaker system near the front seats. It features a tweeter for high frequencies. A mid-range driver delivers clear vocals and instruments. The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e feature a single ceiling-mounted subwoofer. It provides deep, impactful bass to enhance the immersive experience. They also have two additional speaker drivers. These are specifically designed to create a surround sound effect within the cabin. This comprehensive audio system is combined with Dolby Atmos technology.
