Nothing Launches Community Widgets App, Debuts Classic Snake Game
Nothing, the innovative tech company, has introduced a new app called Nothing Community Widgets. This app is exclusive to Nothing smartphones like the Nothing Phone 2a Plus and Nothing Phone 2. It features a variety of widgets co-developed by the brand’s passionate user community.
One of the first additions to the app is a nostalgic nod to the past: a classic Snake game. This iconic mobile game, reminiscent of the Nokia era, has been reimagined for the modern age. The game can be placed on the home screen as a widget, offering a quick and fun gaming experience.
Community Collaboration The Snake game is a testament to Nothing’s commitment to community involvement. The idea for the game was initially proposed by community member Rahul Janardhanan in January. Nothing chose to collaborate with community developer Thomas Legendre instead of developing it in-house. He has previously contributed to projects like Ear (web) and the Simone Glyph Game.
A Modern Twist on a Classic The core concept of the Snake game remains the same. You grow the snake by eating dots. Avoid collisions to keep playing. The controls have been adapted for touchscreens. Users can control the snake’s direction with simple swipe gestures, offering a more intuitive and modern gaming experience.
Nothing Community Widgets is a testament to the company’s dedication to fostering a vibrant and engaged community. Nothing empowers users to contribute to the development of new features. This sets a new standard for user-centric innovation.
