Samsung Galaxy Ring finally went official at the company’s second Galaxy Unpacked of the year held in Paris. The ring was announced alongside the latest Galaxy Z foldable smartphones. The South Korean brand’s first-ever smart ring comes loaded with various health tracking and sleep monitoring features and is available in three finishes with sizes up to 13. The Galaxy Ring has a lightweight design weighing from 2.3 grams to 3.0 grams with a water-resistant build. It is touted to deliver up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. It runs on the Samsung Health platform.

Samsung Galaxy Ring is priced at $399 (roughly Rs. 34,000) and will be available for pre-order in select markets starting July 10 with general availability starting July 24. It is offered in Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold colors.

JioTag Air was launched in India as the successor to JioTag – Reliance Jio’s Bluetooth-enabled tracker, on Tuesday. One of the key new features of the device is its compatibility with Apple’s Find My network Feature which enables iPhone users to locate lost or stolen items such as keys, luggage, wallets, and even pets – items that are prone to get misplaced. It becomes the latest product launched by the company, following the debut of the JioFinance app last month.

JioTag Air is available for purchase in India at an introductory price of Rs. 1,499 via JioMart, Reliance Digital, and Amazon India. The device comes in three colour options: blue, grey, and red. Buyers can also avail cashback while making the transaction via CredUPI, Paytm, and select credit cards.

Vi has introduced a new RedX postpaid plan, which now includes Netflix subscription as an additional benefit. It also includes access to four other popular OTT platforms among other benefits. Previously priced at Rs. 1,101, the refreshed plan now costs Rs. 1,201 per month — an increase of Rs. 100. Notably, this upgrade comes on the heels of the company’s recent price hike of prepaid and postpaid recharge plans in India.

The telecom operator has confirmed that customers who are subscribed to the updated RedX postpaid plan will gain mobile as well as TV access to users for five OTT platforms, like Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Sony Liv, and Sun NXT. 

With this Vi RedX postpaid plan, customers will also get a Swiggy One membership for six months at no additional cost. The subscription grants free food/Instamart deliveries on orders above Rs. 199 and even some discounts on Swiggy Genie bookings

WhatsApp for Android is reportedly getting a new feature allowing the in-built artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Meta AI to edit and reply to images. The new feature is currently under development, as per the update tracker, and those who have signed up for the app’s beta programme will not be able to see it. It is said that the upcoming Meta AI feature will be powered by the company’s latest large language model, Llama 3. Users will be given privacy control options to protect the images as well

iPhone 14 was initially unveiled in India in September 2022. The smartphone was launched alongside the iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The prices of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have been discounted in the country since their launch. Now, the vanilla iPhone 14 handset can be bought at an even cheaper rate during the ongoing Monsoon Fest sale held by Apple reseller Imagine. Kyutai Labs on Wednesday launched Moshi AI, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that responds verbally in real-time. The French AI firm has announced that Moshi’s entire audio language model was developed in-house. It can also modulate the voice to express emotions and respond in various speaking styles. The AI model can be accessed by the public, for free. Currently, the AI model restricts conversations to five minutes. Interestingly, OpenAI also announced similar speech features with the release of GPT-4o, but it is yet to be released.

Google is planning to make India its production hub for Pixel smartphones and will export them to Europe and the US, according to a report. The company is expected to unveil the Google Pixel 9 series on August 13 in an event. A percentage of these devices that will be made available in Europe will reportedly be made in India. Two different manufacturing firms are said to be handling the production of these devices. It is also said that Google will make a formal announcement regarding the new development in the coming months

Zepp Health, the parent company of Amazfit, announced the launch of Zepp OS 4 on Tuesday. The new operating system for its smartwatches comes with the integration of OpenAI’s latest artificial intelligence (AI) model GPT-4o and offers multiple new features. The company claims the supported Amazfit wearables will get voice command capabilities, new personalised wellness features, and better messaging and Bluetooth integration. Currently, the Zepp OS 4 has been rolled out for the Amazfit Balance and Amazfit Active smartwatches. Support for the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, Falcon and Cheetah series will be added later this year.

Ajax Engineering, a concreting solution provider, launched its artificial intelligence (AI) platform Concrete GPT on Tuesday. The AI chatbot is aimed at professionals in the concrete industry and serves as a knowledge-sharing space to share innovation, market insights, and regulatory updates. The company claims that more than a million specialists in India will benefit from this AI tool. The AI platform can be accessed even without signing up. However, accessing Concrete GPT with Ajax ID will unlock additional privileges for users.
